The Early Days

Welcome Center in Club Caribe before 1995

Some of the first Acolytes were:

BLD Stalker...: came over from Club Caribe.
Brynne...: she is still around
Chameleon...: possible the first acolyte, she always knew just the best thing to say
Data...: was soft spoken and warm
Electra...: she later became Caretaker Electra
Indigo...: she had a light about her that just brightened everything she touched (her sister was Fawn)
Milen...: was chipper strong and creative
Nicci...: was Milen's close friend and really special too
Rosaleah...: she is still here also, was staff in old Club Caribe.
Serena...: she is a real oldbie, was also staff in Club Caribe.
VIQer...: was just plain charming, came over from Club Caribe
Zippy...: she became an aco a little later and was just like her name...zippy

In 1995 Compuserve unveiled its newest avatar based chat community, Dreamscape.

In '95 only Hermes met new members, and, as one member said "we were lucky if Piemur was standing in the street telling people to go up and then keep going left."
"Right after beta, the Acolytes were the welcomers. They had no powers back then and acted as the first Welcomers.

1996 Groups of Kymer
Possibly the first inworld group was the BLD or Bloodliners who actually came over from Club Caribe, the forerunner of Worlds Away, the Bloodliners were all former Club Caribers. In 1995 Pal Joey and Artema founded the Guardians. They were shrouded in myth and mystery and helped protect the citizens from theft. Early in 1996 the Guardians founded the Golden Knights. This was to become one of the strongest groups. The Golden Knights were a helper group that were formed to protect citizens from harm and try to greet people as they entered. One of the GK directives read:	"-When Acolytes are not present in the Visitor's Center, occasionally fill in for them! But filling a room when there are Acolytes on-duty is considered a nuisance..." "-As your schedule allows, go to Cypress Street Center, run out any thieves, greet and make newbies feel secure as they enter the Dreamscape."

	Another group, of significance, that welcomed people to world were the Duckolytes. This group may have been founded initially for fun but had members that really worked to promote kindness in Kymer.

There was a Bean group too (they all wore martian heads), and the Foxes. There were so few in world in those days that a new member was noticed right away. Most were glad to see new members and helped them.
